All our turf is cut to order, so all orders must be placed in advance. Lead time can vary from one day to two weeks or more depending on the time of year and weather conditions. We welcome pick up directly from the farm!

We do! We will be happy to discuss delivery options over the phone!

We put 650 sqft on a pallet.

Depending on moisture content that day a roll of turf can weigh anywhere from 20-30 lbs. One full pallet can weigh anywhere  between 1800-2100 lbs.

Depends on the truck! Our pallets are 4’x4’ and the turf overhangs a little.

One roll of turf covers 9 sqft. (approx. 16” x 81”)

We recommend adding 4–6 inches of topsoil.

As soon as the frost comes out of the ground and the soil can be worked in the spring.

As long as the temperatures are above freezing during the day and the soil is warm enough for the roots to push through.

Level the site as well as possible, getting rid of any debris. Add topsoil leaving approx. ¾” for grade along all sidewalks, driveways etc.

That all depends on your soil, time of year, and location. When you first lay your turf, give it a good 1” soak. Then for the first week to 10 days, be sure to not let the soil dry out. Once rooted, reduce the frequency to every second day.

You can begin to mow once the roots have taken. Maintain a minimum mowing height of 2.5-3 inches and mow often, taking off no more than ⅓ of the blade at a time.

We recommend using a 14-16-11 or one that is higher in phosphorus for root growth. Fertilize before and after laying the turf,  then again every 3-4 weeks for the first growing season. We sell 14-16-11 here at the farm for $10 a bag which covers 1,000 square feet of turf.

Measure the length of your yard in feet and multiply it by the width to get the square footage. For more complex shaped yards, break it up into smaller sections and add all the square footage amounts together. We suggest adding 5% for waste or cut ends.

We cut our turf fresh the evening before or morning of but suggest laying your turf as soon as possible once picked up or delivered—the day of or within 24 hours.

Our turf is cut to order so any cancelation must be 24 hrs before your pick up time.

You can enjoy your lawn right away! However please allow 2 weeks for root development before any heavy traffic.
